Noratlas

Le Noratlas cargo n°83 était affecté à l'EE 54 lorsque cette photographie fut prise à Metz en 1980. Il effectuait alors un vol au profit du régiment de parachutistes local. On remarquera son code factice "63-KF" : cet avion serait arrivé à Metz avec les codes de son ancienne unité, soit "62-KF" et il aurait été recodé sur place "63-KF". Son successeur à l'EE 54, le N2501 n°131 était également codé "63-KF" (voir la photo plus bas sur la page principale). Le Noratlas n°83 a effectué des missions photo dans les couloirs de Berlin à l'aide d'un bâti photo démontable.

Noratlas cargo n°83 was assigned to EE 54 when this photograph was taken at Metz in 1980. It was flying for the benefit of the local paratrooper regiment that day. Note the false code "63-KF": this aircraft would have arrived at Metz with its former unit code "62-KF" and would have been recoded "63-KF" on location. Its successor in EE 54, N2501 n°131 was also coded "63-KF" (see the picture further below on the main page). Noratlas n°83 equipped with a dedicated frame that could be dismantled flew photo reconnaissance missions in the Berlin corridors.
