La photo de gauche est très rare, voire unique. Il s'agit d'un Su-25BM codé 04 jaune-orange du 4è escadron du 368.OChAP en approche à Damgarten en 1990. Les autres photos illustrent le même appareil recodé 04 rouge atterrissant à Gross Dölln le 15 juin 1993. Un examen attentif des images permet d'affirmer qu'il s'agit bel et bien du même appareil. La touche de peinture caractéristique devant le réacteur gauche du 04 jaune était clairement visible sur le 04 rouge. Une conlusion logique s'impose : les quelque 12 Su-25BM du 368.OChAP attachés au 4.AE arboraient des codes jaune-orangés qui furent ensuite repeints en rouge ou parfois changés pour un nouveau numéro rouge, lorsque, après la cessation des activités de remorquage, ces "Frogfoot" rejoignirent leurs collègues aux codes rouges à Demmin. A noter également l'absence des rails lance-missiles APU-60 sous les pylones externes (non visibles mais sans doute présents) du 04 jaune, contrairement à la photo du bas du même appareil. Ce détail pourrait indiquer qu'il s'agissait de points d'emport de cibles.

The top left picture is very rare, possibly unique. It shows a Su-25BM with 04 yellow-orange side number of the 4th squadron from the 368.OShAP, approaching Damgarten runway threshold in 1990. The two other pictures show the same aircraft with 04 red side number landing at Gross Dölln on 15 June 1993. A closer look at the images reveals indeed that they concern the same aircraft. The paint shape in front of the left engine intake on 04 yellow was clearly visible on 04 red as well. It is therefore logical to conclude that the 12 Su-25BM of the 368.OShAP that were flying with the 4.AE wore yellow-orange side numbers. When air-to-air and ground-to-air firing was terminated in GDR, their numbers were painted in red - or sometimes changed for a new red number - when they moved back to Demmin, as a standardisation measure to stick with the regimental colour of the other aircraft. It is interesting to note that the outboard APU-60 missile rails were missing on 04 yellow - they are clearly visible on the picture of the same aircraft below. That could indicate that the outboard pylons (probably present on the aircraft but not visible on this picture) were used to carry targets.
