Deux unités basées en RDA volèrent sur Yak-27R : les 11. et 931.ORAP. L'une de ces machines était exposée dans une cour intérieure, devant les bâtimens d'état-major à Rangsdorf. On peut distinguer juste devant la buse du canon NR-23, la trappe photo rectangulaire derrière laquelle se trouvait un appareil en position oblique. Cette trappe était partiellement doublée par une plaque de protection contre les gaz du canon.

Two units based in GDR flew the Yak-27R: the 11. and 931.ORAP. One of those aircraft was on display in a courtyard in front of the headquarters buildings at Rangsdorf. One can distinguish the rectangular camera hatch behind which was an oblique camera, just in front of the NR-23 gun nozzle. The hatch was partially doubled with a protection plate against the gun gases.
